This tool is made for the new Shimano BB9000 and BBR60 threaded bottom bracket cups. They are a lighter design and a thinner diameter bottom bracket cup. The BB9000 measure around 42mm diameter, the BR60 around 44mm, and a traditional bottom bracket measures about 46mm.
